Boletus edulis (by Kat)

Yummy!


On an excursion this past weekend, we stumbled upon a little community of boletes just along the side of the forest road. Known to the french as ceps, they're a culinary treasure to find in the woods around here.

Sure, they're cute. But even better, they're yummy!

Some were picked, others were left to spawn new generation of fungi.



These two were particularly well-bonded, so I let them be.

Yes, yes, you say, but mushrooms don't reproduce sexually.

I say they were still very good friends, and left them to their business.

The rest, I ate!
